Yamaha releases new synth app

Yamaha has introduced its new Synth Arp & Drum Pad app for iPad.

It features a powerful built-in fully functional software synthesizer equipped with a wide variety of professional sounds, tones and editing features and offers instant music making and recording to players of all skill levels.

The app allows the user to play and produce phrases from various genres. It also includes an arpeggiator with recorded patterns from 342 different types of instrument, drum pads that let the musician play multiple chords and percussion sounds with just one finger and 61 different software synth timbres.

The MIDI loop sequencer/recorder can be used to record and store sounds and then conduct timbre processing for further playback. The application also supports Core MIDI, enabling it to play instruments and sound sources connected to the iPad via MIDI.

Compatible with iOS 5 or later, the Synth Arp & Drum Pad is available from the Apple App Store for a special price of £2.49 (usually £5.49) until July 31st.
