VOX rocks up at Beatles Fest to help celebrate the fab four

VOX Amps recently took part in a one-day Beatles fan festival in London to tell the story of how the fab four began using its iconic amplifiers in the early 1960s.

The firm told the story of how the AC30 combo helped define the sound of the Beatles as well as other British bands that led the “British Invasion” in the mid-1960s.

Taking place during the May Bank Holiday, the event hosted a raft of Beatles tribute bands and special interest features including John Lennon’s psychedelic yellow painted Rolls Royce.

Event organiser Dan Richards commented: “All at 1day Events felt very privileged that VOX attended “The Beatles 1day” event. With VOX’s very close links to The Beatles and other great 1960s bands, we felt it essential that everyone was aware of that part of the Beatles story, and how closely VOX had worked with the group to give the band that unique sound.

“At all the key parts of The Beatles story the band were using VOX equipment; the Cavern Club, Ed Sullivan show and at the Shea stadium concert in 1965, and of course at Abbey Road studios.

“We had so much positive feedback about the VOX presentation from people that attended the event.”

VOX donated a classic AC30 Custom for a raffle on the day, which raised almost £800 for the charity Music for All.

VOX has revealed that it will be taking part in various activities during 2017 to mark the company’s 60th anniversary.
