As another week draws to a close, we look back at the biggest stories in MI from the past seven days.

Top of this week’s chart is the publication of Gear4music’s unaudited end of year financials. The figures reveal significant growth for the retailer both on home soil and in Europe.

Also popular this week is news that Future Publishing has acquired Blaze Publishing, with each of its music titles and event included in the deal.

Elsewhere, a guitar-themed survey from retailer Dawsons threw up some interesting findings as to musicians’ preferences, while the addition of retail expert and consultant, Corin Birchall, to the MI Expo professional development programme captured the industry’s attention.
