It’s that time of year again where the MI industry heads to one of America’s most musical cities, Nashville, to showcase and discover the latest and greatest musical instruments and MI gear.

Taking place between July 13th and 15th, this year’s Summer NAMM promises to be packed full of new announcements, exciting presentations and a host of training and education sessions.

With so much going on it can be a little daunting trying to figure out where to start, what to see, and what innovative new products, talks and presentations are not to be missed.

Luckily for you, MI Pro is here to lay out all of the important information about what’s happening at Summer NAMM 2017. And we’ve also rounded up some of the most exciting MI gear already announced, and rumoured, for this year’s show.

WHEN AND WHERE

Summer NAMM 2017 takes place at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee from July 13th to July 15th. There is a Retail Bootcamp taking place today (July 12th).

TRAINING, PRESENTATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS

There are numerous presentations and educational sessions at this year’s show covering a range of topics.

NAMM U Sessions cover a full day Retail Boot Camp on July 12th, NAMM U Breakfast Sessions each morning of the show, and the NAMM Idea Center Sessions, which run every half-hour. The likes of Retail Profit’s Doug Stephens, Sixth Star Consulting’s Doug Fleener and Music Inc’s Frank Alkyer will be hosting sessions.

TEC Tracks at Summer NAMM features education for recording, live sound and music industry professionals – three full days of free sessions held right on the show floor at booth 263.

On Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th, Audinate will be offering free Dante Certification training at Summer NAMM 2017. These training courses span a wide array of expertise, from beginner to intermediate to advanced Dante users.

MUST-SEE PRODUCTS

Here is our roundup of some of the coolest products that have been announced for this year’s Summer NAMM show so far:

MARTIN GUITAR

Martin Guitar will be showcasing a number of signature and limited edition guitars at this year’s show, including a Jason Isbell signature and an impressive looking limited edition guitar from Dick Boak to name but a few.

MAD PROFESSOR

Amp and pedal maker Mad Professor will be at the show presenting its products, including the brand new Dual Blue Delay pedal, which promises a rich, fat and warm sound.

FENDER

There are a lot of rumours flying around about what Fender will unveil at the show. One thing’s for sure – there’s going to be plenty of new gear to get your head around. Check back on MI Pro tomorrow for the official announcements.

BOSS

Boss unveiled a bunch of new products recently that visitors will be able to see in the flesh this week, including the RV-500 and MOD-500 pedals and the new Katana Mini amp.

ERNIE BALL MUSIC MAN

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Ernie Ball Music Man is unveiling a special edition volume pedal with a special red finish.

ROLAND

Roland has also unveiled a host of new gear recently that’s worth checking out at the show, including its new range of digital percussion pads, its GO:KEYS and GO:PIANO keyboards, and the new FA music workstation series and SE-02 analog synth.

KORG

Korg has recently introduced a new stage piano, the Grandstage, which Summer NAMM visitor’s can expect to see on show this year.
