The Great Escape festival to hold DIY programme for musicians

The Great Escape Festival will be hosting a DIY programme for musicians on Saturday, May 21st, which will aim to offer advice on how artists can stage their own live events and get their music heard.

The DIY programme, supported by Tunecore, is designed to bring young bands and artists of all genres together to discuss how to stage live events and club nights, as well as how to engage with the right digital channels to engage with your audience after the show.

CMU’s Chris Cooke, DICE’s Jen long and DJ/producer John ‘00’ Fleming will be hosting the event.

Fleming commented: “For some reason there seems to be a dividing line between the electronic and live worlds, yet we all have exactly the same issues to deal with. As part of the TGE DIY Day it makes sense for performers, producers and those working across all genres to be in the same room sharing experiences and solutions. Our aim is to build a bridge between the two worlds with a programme focusing on ‘going live’ which also showcases the very best in tomorrow’s music technology. And let’s not forget the fantastic networking opportunities as the two worlds rub shoulders together.”
