The summer showcase returns to Nashville, for its tenth year from July 12th–14th 2012 with a wide variety of events scheduled day and night.

More than 10,000 music industry professionals from over 20 countries are expected to attend the three-day event at Nashville’s Convention Center.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 11th
6.30pm: A Celebration of Music -  Events on Third (in Printer’s Alley)
Two Old Hippies, Bedell Guitars, The Music Trades and NAMM present John Oates, Gary Morris, Drake White and The Little Kids Rock student band. The free party features live music, a silent auction benefitting Little Kids Rock and food. http://rocknandreeln.com/
 
THURSDAY, JULY 12th

8am: NAMM U’s NAMM Retail Summit  - Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
Joe Lamond, NAMM President/CEO, with Chip Averwater, author and Amro Music Stores Chairman, offer an in-depth discussion of retail success.

Some 13 NAMM U Sessions are offered every half hour at the NAMM Idea Center (Booth 837, Level 1).

6pm - 8:30pm:  Best of Nashville Music Event - Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
The Nashville Musicians Association and NAMM present a live summer music event featuring The Duffy Jackson Big Band, Three Ring Circle, 18 South, The Charles Walker Quartet and more.
 
FRIDAY, JULY 13th

8am: NAMM U Breakfast Session - Becoming a Category of One: How Extraordinary Companies Create and Sustain SuccesS - Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
Joe Calloway, author of Becoming a Category of One, presents an exciting session about what creates market leaders in today's hyper-competitive marketplace.
 
Ten additional NAMM U sessions are offered throughout the day at the NAMM Idea Center (Booth 837, Level 1). Topics can be accessed here.
 
Recreational Music Making Sessions  -  NAMM Foundation Lounge (Rooms 209/210, Level 2)
10am- 11am: Joe Lamond/Bill Ivey - Discussion with founding director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise and Public Policy at Vanderbilt University
1.30pm– 2.15pm: Debra Perez - Finding and training the right facilitator for your store
2.30pm– 3.00pm: Kala Brand Music - Starting and running a Strum and Drum Program
3.30pm– 4.15pm: NAMM - Reaching more customers by providing a place to play
 
6.45pm:  NAMM’s Top 100 Dealers Awards -  Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
NAMM honors 100 of the industry’s most innovative and enterprising music retailers with awards in several categories including Dealer of the Year, Curb Appeal, Use of Social Media and more.
 
8.30pm–11.30pm: Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night  -  Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
Presented by Yamaha Guitars and benefitting the non-profit Little Kids Rock, experience a guitar-centric event featuring acoustic and electric artists. Tickets are available from Yamaha’s booth or at the door for $20.
 
SATURDAY, JULY 14th

8am: NAMM U Breakfast Session Best in Show -  This Year’s Hottest Products -  Renaissance Hotel Grand Ballroom
Join a panel of well-respected retailers and buyers who have combed the show floor in search of the best products, ideas and trends for their top picks in four categories.
 
Members of NAMM and the Music Industry can still register for the summer event.
