Sabian is letting its customers decide which cymbals the company will release next year.
The 12 new models, developed by the Sabian Vault team, will be shipped to select dealers for the upcoming Cymbal Vote tour, allowing customers to try them first-hand in store.
For those unable to get out and play the cymbals in person, the Cymbal Vote website will feature videos of Sabian artists playing and commenting on the products. Top players like Mike Portnoy, Ray Luzier and Tony Royster Jr. will take the cymbals for a test-drive and offer their opinions on the 12 models.
When Sabian first launched the Cymbal Vote website, it was the first time a major cymbal manufacturer had allowed its customers to choose their annual product offering. Drummers were able to vote in a series of elimination rounds until a final four remained, which were officially launched at the 2012 NAMM Show.
The Cymbal Vote Tour will be stopping at the following venues throughout September and October. Two sets of cymbals will travel around the North and South of the UK, and will be in stores for the entire weekend:
