Yamaha has promoted long-serving Darren Power to the role of European Marketing Manager for its Professional Music Division.
Power, who has been with Yamaha Music UK for 25 years, will take up the role in Hamburg in September and oversee and instigate marketing strategies and activities for Yamaha's Guitar, Music Production, MI Pro Audio and Drum products (Acoustic and Electronic).
He commented: "An exciting opportunity to be at the heart of our European business, whilst we are all well aware of the tough economic climes in Europe, Yamaha reassuringly continue to invest and innovate in both production and product respectively. Currently and around the corner we have some very exciting products and I am looking forward to being part of the team that make said products and instruments a success in the European market place."
Richard Hodgson, Yamaha Music (UK) PMD sales and marketing director, said: "Whilst I am sad to see Darren leave the UK division, I am delighted for him and truly believe that this move will bolster our marketing prowess across Europe. Without doubt, it will clearly be advantageous for the UK to have a native English speaker who understands the needs of our market. I am now urgently turning my attention to finding a worthy successor to Darren."
