PMT has expanded to a tenth store, opening a new branch in Cambridge city centre later this year.
The firm has been focusing on expanding and consolidating its online offering over the last 12 months, having acquired troubled online specialist Dolphin last year, but says its focus will now return to its core High Street retailing business.
PMT co-owner, Simon Gilson, said: "Last year was all about looking to the future of our web and mail order division. Although this is still very much a work in progress, it will be developed alongside our expanding chain of 'real' superstores to give them additional core strength.
"Cambridge has been on our target list for many years, but as is often the case in our country’s major cities, the availability and overheads of city centre property usually excludes our industry from getting the best locations. "In spite of this, after a great deal of searching, and with a huge stroke of luck, we are delighted to have acquired such a large footprint store on the busiest road in Cambridgeshire. The new store will open later this summer with the exciting news that it will initially create 10 new jobs".
