Peter Heath unveiled as new PLASA managing director

Former Roland man, Peter Heath, has been revealed as the new managing director of PLASA (Professional Lighting and Sound Association).

Heath joins the organisation from Roland after almost 20 years with the company, during which time he occupied a number of senior roles.

Commenting on his new role, Heath said: “I am delighted to be appointed managing director and am looking forward to working closely with PLASA members, carrying on the great work that has been achieved recently, along with creating new and exciting opportunities to grow our Association.”

Ed Pagett, chairman of PLASA, said of the appointment: “We are delighted to have Peter join PLASA in the role of MD. He brings with him a wealth of experience and fresh enthusiasm to help develop the Association, supported by the PLASA staff and elected Board. There is still much to be done, but I know Peter will hit the ground running and maintain the forward momentum that has been generated.”

The selection process for the new post, which supersedes the position of CEO, was run independently of the PLASA Executive Officers and managed on PLASA’s behalf by John Simpson (Former Chair of the PLASA Governing Body), with support from PLASA?Board Members Peter James (Shure Distribution UK) and Mark Surtees (Outback Rigging Group), PLASA Finance Director Shane McGreevy and independent HR specialist Elaine Pennell.
