Brands belonging to defunct distributor P&R Howard are being offered for sale through a specialist IP company.
Metis Partners has been appointed by KPMG to find buyers for the firm's list of brands which includes Westfield, Boston, Lauren and Sheridan guitars; Eastwood folk and dreadnought guitars; Session Pro drum kits; Rossini accordions and concertinas; Makai ukeleles; Boogie Bag instrument carriers; and the Meridian brand of accessories.
Nat Baldwin, of Metis Partners, which is co-ordinating the sale, said: "P&R Howard has been renowned throughout the UK music industry for supplying high quality bespoke instruments and accessories to individual musicians and bands.
"At the height of its trading, it was turning over almost £5 million and we expect that there will be keen interest in its assets, including the valuable brands and related domain names, from the music industry both in the UK and abroad.
"This instruction builds on Metis Partners' undoubted experience in the music supply sector. We were also instrumental in selling the IP assets of Fopp, the Glasgow music business which became the UK's largest independent music retailer."
Stephen Robertson, founder and chief executive of Metis Partners, added: "P&R Howard is an excellent brand, known for quality and service, and our experience of selling IP assets in the music industry will ensure the greatest possible interest in its assets."
