Origin Effects' rapid expansion creates three new roles

Origin Effects has announced three new appointments to the business due to the effects pedal maker’s rapid expansion over the past year.

Rohan Byrt joins the team of stompbox builders in the newly created role of Inventory and Logistics Manager. His previous role was as Production Development Coordinator at Orange Amplification.

With over four years of experience at Orange, Byrt is able to draw from his involvement in large-scale production in his new role with the Oxfordshire boutique pedal builders.

Origin Effects’ runaway success has led to the creation of a role solely focused on managing the increased number of components, parts, and stock to meet the growing demand for Origin Effects' Cali76 and SlideRIG compressor pedals, as well as working closely with the design team to bring new R&D projects to life in the coming months and maintaining the values of the brand from component to finished pedal as the stock levels increase with customer demand.

"As the proud owner of a Cali76 I have watched the growth of the brand over the last few years with real enthusiasm and I am absolutely thrilled to have joined the Origin Effects team. It's great that I can be part of making all the exciting ideas we have a reality," said Byrt.

The business's expansion has also demanded further internal staffing restructure, with new roles created for existing members of staff.

Fabienne Peppiatt has been appointed as Production Floor Manager and Jack Dunwoody now runs the Digital Media and Technical Support elements of Origin Effects full-time.

This growing demand for more pedals has required Peppiatt to move from building pedals to managing the rest of the production team, which has expanded since the start of 2017.

Peppiatt has worked at Origin Effects since 2013 and her knowledge of the pedal manufacturing process lends itself perfectly to the role of overseeing hundreds or pedals, which are built every week. With an expanded production team building nearly three times as many pedals per month than this time last year, her role ensures that every single Origin Effects pedal is hand crafted from start to finish with the same attention to detail, quality control and skill that founder Simon Keats implemented when hand building the first Origin Effects designs.

"It is really enjoyable working with a fast growing company where everyone's opinion and input is truly valued," Peppiatt said. "I have a fantastic, close-knit team behind me that work hard to maintain the reputation and values of Origin Effects."

Jack Dunwoody began working as a pedal builder for Origin Effects in 2015, whilst simultaneously designing them a new website and handling their social media presence. The 'go to' tech guru at Origin Effects, he has now left the production floor behind to work exclusively on promoting the brand through digital marketing as well as maintaining the technical support department, Origin Effects website and the companies social media platforms.

"I am so excited to be in a role where I can combine my lifelong passion for guitar gear with my experience in design and digital media. Origin Effects is blossoming and I can't wait to help bring this boutique British brand into full bloom," commented Jack.

General Manager Ian Rees added: "The growth over the last 18 Months at Origin Effects has been incredible, with sales rocketing and some of the world's most renowned artists getting on board with us. The brand's reception has secured it as an industry go-to for high-quality studio grade effects pedals and with an array of new products and development happening in the near future, these new roles will cement our market place and reputation further, whilst still staying true to our boutique values and sensibilities. It is a privilege to head up such a talented and driven team.”
