John Hornby Skewes will be the main sponsor of the Northern Guitar Shows for the remainder of the year, it has been announced.
The agreement will mean that John Hornby Skewes’ Vintage and Fret-King brands, together with the HK Elements PA system will be used as the main stage PA for all Northern Guitar events in 2012.
The sponsorship will begin at the North West Guitar Show at Haydock Park Racecourse Exhibition Centre on May 20th.
“We have had a great relationship with Vintage and Fret-King’s Gavin Coulson over the last few years, both as an exhibitor and as a very popular demonstrator and performer at the Shows,” said Northern Guitar Shows director Peter Hoarty.
“We are delighted to move the association a step closer and we are looking forward to working with Gavin and John Hornby Skewes Ltd in the coming months.
"The North West Guitar Show is our flagship event, currently in its 15th year, and now the biggest one day guitar show in the UK. This will be the 45th guitar show organised by Northern Guitar Shows Ltd since we began in 1998. Bookings for exhibition space are already 25 per cent up on this time last year and we have had many enquiries from new exhibitors keen to take advantage of our very reasonable and affordable, all-inclusive stand booking fees.
"Our most recent event was The Newcastle Guitar Show which once again showed an increase in attendance on 2011. There was a great turnout from the public who were spending money which kept the exhibitors happy and the live music was well received, featuring rising blues stars, The Mitch Laddie Band, and Alex Hutchings showcasing new Roland Boss products. Once again, a busy, friendly, enthusiastic crowd ensured a great day out for all concerned."
Hoarty also revealed that a new event has been added to its calendar, the North East Guitar Show, which will take place at Newcastle Racecourse Exhibition Centre, High Gosforth Park.
"We have been looking for a new venue for another show for some time," said Hoarty, "and racecourses have always worked very well for us. It was clear from the moment we stepped foot into the Newcastle Racecourse’s impressive reception area and exhibition hall that it ticked all the boxes for a fantastic Guitar Show. We have already had many bookings and enquiries from exhibitors keen to attend."
