George and Gabriel Osztreicher have acquired Japanese boutique guitar brand Caparison from Kyowa Shokai Ltd.
The deal will also see the pair handle worldwide distribution for the line of high-end solid bodied guitar and basses.
Director George Osztreicher, founder of the Tanglewood and Hudson acoustic brands, stated: “My relationship with Kyowa Shokai Ltd goes back many years starting when they first distributed my British Music Strings brand some 40 years ago. The Caparison Guitar business, which is very successful and continues to enjoy a worldwide following, was a separate entity, which has allowed us to take over as new owners of the company.”
Caparison Guitars was created in 1995 by the former Charvel/Jackson staff and designers of the Japanese division who produced some of the world’s most influential guitars, including the CDS Series, CDS II, Questar Series, Doug Aldrich Model, Soloist Special, Dinky AXE and Falcon guitars.
Endorsees of the brand include Michael J. Romeo of Symphony X, Christopher Amott, formally of Arch Enemy, Joel Stroetzel of Killswitch Engage, Jona Weinhofen of Bring Me The Horizon, Mattias "IA" Eklundh of Freak Kitchen, Jeff Williams and Andy Rosser-Davies of Onslaught, Chris and Tino Troy of Praying Mantis and Dennis Stratton, the original Iron Maiden guitarist.
Caparison guitars and basses start at £1,679. The company can be contacted on 02920 399205, or at email@example.com.
