New Order bassist backs Yamaha's Spotify campaign

Former New Order bassist Peter Hook is promoting Yamaha's THR amp range through a campaign on Spotify.

The partnership will see a month long campaign based on audio and banner alerts to Spotify's users across the UK and features the iconic former Joy Division and New Order bassist who has recorded an audio endorsement of the mini-amp range.The campaign will run throughout April and May and reach millions of Spotify users.

Hook is currently touring Europe with his band Peter Hook and The Light has been playing Yamaha for over 40 years, his favoured Yamaha BB1200 bass has accompanied him on every tour and featured on all Joy Division and New Order records.

Yamaha's Martin Adam said: "THR is already becoming an iconic product that has captured the imagination of normally unaffordable high circulation media. We are now taking this to the next level by promoting THR to music lovers and musicians via Spotify with a highly compelling story thanks to Peter Hook."

In addition, Yamaha has launched a new App for the THR range. The new free of charge Session App allow users to to play along with, and learn their favourite tracks by deploying the App's Extraction feature which isolates and mutes the guitar track allowing guitarists to play along, practice and learn solos with the band and their guitar heroes .

Other tricks include a 'slow down' function which slows tracks down without any loss of audio quality. Any segment of the track can also be repeated and the key changed.

The App is available now for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4/4S, iPod Touch and iPad.
