NAMM Day 2: Yamaha announces Live Custom drums

Yamaha has announced its new Live Custom line of drums aimed at gigging drummers.

The drums in the Live Custom line feature 100% oak shells which offer superior projection and volume even in loud environments making the Live Custom a great kit for larger stages and louder bands.

Other details include black nickel hardware and lacquer finishes. The thick oak shells give a deep, clear sound and a redesigned snare throwoff is smooth and durable.

"We are so excited about Live Custom " explained Gavin Thomas, UK Product Manager for Yamaha Drums. "Yamaha was the first Drum Company to develop 100% Oak shells, and it has established itself as a firm favourite for many of our artists over the years. It is beautiful to now see the next generation of Oak with many improved design elements including a thicker Oak shell, the drums deliver even more depth, projection and clarity than ever before"

Yamaha Live Custom kits are set to ship in May 2013 with an estimated RRP from £1672.
