NAMM Day 2: Ernie Ball announces new technologically advanced strings

Ernie Ball, manufacturer of electric guitar strings and accessories, has announced new strings that utilise breakthrough technology.

The M-Steel electric guitar strings are a new, patent-pending premium line of guitar strings made from a defense grade alloy known as Maraging Steel, to provide increased strength and durability compared to traditional guitar string wire and has been specifically developed to provide a more break resistant string.

Officially launching in late January 2013, the new Ernie Ball M-Steel Slinkys will hit the shelves in mid-summer 2013 and will be available in five popular Slinkys gauges: Super, Regular, Hybrid, Power and Skinny Top Heavy Bottom.

"String Breakage has been a common problem for guitarists,” says Brian Ball of Ernie Ball.  “With M-Steel, we've developed a new alloy that significantly improves the strength of plain strings and core wire for wrapped strings."

For more information on the M-Steel strings, visit the Ernie Ball site here.
