Musicroom reports steady growth

Musicroom experienced 2.3 per cent overall sales growth from July 2011 to June 2012, despite the tough economic climate.

The retailer's end of fiscal year results show a 12.6 per cent increase in the guitar and drum sectors, while keyboard and piano sales rose 10.5 per cent. The retail chain also took full advantage of the recent ukulele boom, as sales in the category were up by 36.8 per cent.

It also had a record-breaking Christmas, when it achieved its largest ever single-month's sales. While it suffered a slight dip in January and February, the company recovered in the following months.

Musicroom's Simon Pollard, who is set to leave the firm, said: “This fiscal year benefited from early investment in defining our store’s brand offering. We have made every effort to place emphasis on the enthusiastic specialist help provided in our stores nationwide and make our offering as accessible as possible.”
