Music Group has announced the acquisition of professional loudspeaker manufacturer Turbosound, as part of the Group’s continued expansion.
The addition of Turbosound is designed to allow Music Group to round off its professional and touring audio offerings alongside Klark Teknik and Midas.
Uli Behringer, Music Group founder and CEO, commented: “Since the acquisition of Midas and Klark Teknik we have been pursuing a loudspeaker brand that complements the consoles and processing offered by these historic brands. Throughout our search Turbosound have stood out as the ideal match because of their extensive IP, sterling reputation and a first-class team of people. I am very proud to welcome Simon Blackwood and his team to our family.”
It is expected that Turbosound will retain its own manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution network worldwide, while benefiting from Music Group’s extensive infrastructure.
“We will invest heavily in positioning Turbosound at the very pinnacle of the industry, as we have done with Midas and Klark Teknik, where we have financed over $20 million in new automated manufacturing, quality control systems and engineering resources, including a new Center of Engineering Excellence in Manchester,” said Behringer.
Turbosound managing director Simon Blackwood added: “With the incredible people and resources of the Music Group behind us, I am thrilled to enter a new era of unprecedented growth.”
SCV London is the UK distributor for Turbosound.
