The Learn to Play event – held at Harborough Theatre – gave members of the public an opportunity to receive free music taster lessons.
The day was run by Music for All’s Paul McManus and featured demonstrations from Trevor James (Worldwind), Peavey and Fender, with Musicforce and Soar Valley donating prizes. It also gave AbcMH Music excellent advance publicity beforehand, in the form of posters and local press and radio coverage.
"I am delighted with the response from our Learn to Play event, hosted in partnership with the Music for All charity. The day itself was really busy from start to finish and we had all age groups participate, from a four-year-old old flautist to a 72-year-old drummer. There was a full cross section of steady instrument lessons throughout," said Matt from AbcMH Music.
"We limited the teaching to woodwind and brasswind, plus acoustic guitar, electric guitar and drums – the latter two being ran generally on headphones, which seemed to mix well."

Attending visitors were given information on Music for All and what the event was all about, as well as local teachers, organisations and relevant websites. A number of sales also took place on the day.
Music for All has already started planning more similar events to be held in other locations.
