Music China courts international trade

Music China says this year's show will have its largest ever contingent of international exhibitors and will debut a Japanese pavilion at the show.

The event, which is held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China from 11 – 14 October, has 1,000 companies already registered.

Participating exhibitors include AXL, BG, Bluethner, Bosendorfer, Buffet, D’Addario, Dixon, Fazioli, Fender, Gewa, Ibanez, Kala, KHS, Loree, Maurigaux, Meinl, Music Sales, Orange, Parsons, Peavey, Petrof, Roland, Samick, Samson, Schimmel, Schott, Seiler, Steinway, Takamine, Tama, Tascam, Taylor, Yamaha and Zildjian.

Evan Sha, deputy general Manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai said: "Despite reservations about the global environment, more international exhibitors are strengthening their sales focus on the evolving Chinese market.  Also, to increase their profile at the show, some exhibitors such as Buffet, Dixon, Roland and Yamaha have increased their booth size by 20-50 percent.”

This year, 11 international pavilions from Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Taiwan and the UK will showcase products.

The Japanese pavilion is making its first show appearance and is supported by the Japanese government.  Altogether 28 musical instrument manufacturers and organisations will join the pavilion.

The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) is the organiser of the Japanese pavilion.

Mochizuki Tomoharu, Overseas Trade Fair Division of Trade Fair Department for JETRO commented: “Compared to individual participation, a group entry will give exhibitors a more effective platform to present their products.  We believe the Japanese pavilion at Music China will provide exhibitors with an ‘All Japan Consortium’ resulting in an exceptional opportunity to explore the global musical instrument market.“
