MOR Music is organising York Guitar Weekend, a two-day charity event that will take place at several locations across the city on October 15th and 16th.
The store’s Lynne and Phil O’ Dea have so far confirmed an in-store acoustic set and meet and greet with musician Francis Dunnery and Jamie Humphries will demonstrate Musicman basses and talk to visitors about Lick Library.
The Fibbers venue will host a 12-hour gig marathon, which will involve some of the best bands the city has to offer and on October 16th, the York Guitar Fair will also be held at Fibbers.
All funds raised over the weekend will go to six local charities: Snappy, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, St Leonards Jospice, The Blue Cross, York Against Cancer and The William Rhodes Appeal.

Another feature will be the York Guitar Weekend Charity Treasure Hunt. Participants will be required to find the six hidden guitars spread around the city and return to MOR Music with a completed form to be in with the chance of winning a guitar. The six guitars used in the hunt will also be donated to the six charities after the event.
