MIRC 2013: Peavey unleashing Vypyr range

Peavey will be bringing its new Vypyr VIP amps and its HiSys PA range to MIRC this year and providing the PA  for the Battle of the Bands.

The new Vypyr modelling amps with Variable Instrument Performance (VIP) technology are the world’s first to contain bass guitar, acoustic guitar and electric guitar models says  the firm. The VIP technology means a single amp can provide sounds for a variety of instrument types.

It also allows players access to instrument models as well, allowing users to manipulate the sound of their electric guitar to mimic an acoustic guitar, a bass, a 12-string guitar, and more.

The range consists of three combos: the 20-Watt VIP 1, the 40-Watt VIP 2, and the 100-Watt VIP 3. With Peavey’s PowerSponge variable power, players can adjust the output to suit any playing situation. Other features include a built-in chromatic tuner, on-board looper with Sanpera pedal control and studio quality headphone out.

Sales manager, Rob Kerr, said: “Last year we found MIRC was a great opportunity to meet retailers we don't currently deal with, but this year we are most excited about showing some of our exciting and innovative products such as Vypyr VIP and the new HiSys range.

“Since the demise of BMF. Music Live & LIMS, we have had nothing that is specifically for the benefit of the music industry in the UK. MIRC offers a great opportunity for UK MI retailers to meet with their suppliers in one place and also to share with and learn from the rest of the trade.”

The firm is also among the sponsors for the retail Battle of the Bands competition, which takes place during the after-show party and will see four bands battling it out to win a place on a Music Week industry showcase, plus free studio time and a recording/management deal with Harbour Studios in Essex.

Also at this year's show, taking place at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire on Wednesday, June 26th, are Yamaha, Roland, Barnes & Mullins, Casio, Rotosound, Audio-Technica, Monacor, Marshall, Chord, Tanglewood, Zoom, Soundking, Elixir, Pulse, Polar Audio, SCV/Sony and D'Addario, with the MIA, Academy of Music and Sound and Musicians' Union signed on as event partners.

 The event will feature:

  • Morning conference offering high-value speaker content with experts from a range of business and marketing backgrounds with a keynote from high street guru Karl McKeever plus advice on online, sales and in-store selling techniques.

  • Speakers Corner with the opportunity to speak one to one with business experts from the morning conference.

  • Afternoon expo with 25 suppliers.

  • After-show party, sponsored by Roland, incorporating a retail Battle of the Bands event.

  • Retailers at the show will receive a free Apple TV as part of their high value gift bag.

  • Free to attend
