MIRC 2012: Casio shows off XW series

Casio will be showing off its latest synthesizer technology-  the XW series - at this year's MIRC.

The XW-P1 Performance synth features 100 Solo Synthesizer presets for reproducing classic analogue synth sounds, 50 Hex Layer presets for layering up to six tones, 50 Drawbar Organ presets and 420 PCM Melody and PCM drum presets that have been sampled from a number of different instruments.

It also offers 311 internal synth waves, 2,158 PCM waves and users can layer these to create integrated sounds. Users can also assign performance setups for up to four designated keyboard sounds with the Performance function, a Phrase Sequencer lets the player create and play back phrases and a Step Sequencer does the same job for rhythm patterns.

The XW-G1 'Groove' synth provides a Step Sequencer with 100 rhythm patterns and a further 100 original patterns can be recorded as user sequences. 16 buttons can be used for improvising during play back and up to 99 patterns can be linked together and played as loops.

Daniel Mason, Casio’s senior marketing manager, commented: “Casio continue to support the MI Retail Conference and Expo. We see it as the music industry’s primary chance to share information and ideas, as well as deliver a unified approach to the wider economy on the strength of offering for consumers within music. Casio are pleased to support dealers with a range of innovative products and extensive opportunities to enjoy profitable business. We look forward to welcoming you during the Expo and breakout sessions at this year’s MIRC.

“Our latest innovations, the XW Series Synthesizers, see Casio re-entering a market sector in which the brand has a wealth of heritage via the legendary CZ range of the 1980s.  XW brings a wealth of technology, with two models (XW-P1 and XW-G1) driven by the Hybrid Processing Sound Source.  Features such as a 6 mono-block solo synth, step sequencer for track building, sample looper (XW-G1), real-time control, the innovative Hex-Layer (XW P1) and even a 9-drawbar organ (XW-P1). Why not visit the Casio stand to find out more?”
