MIA Awards deadline looming

Companies have until August 20th to nominate themselves in this year's MIA Awards.

For the first time this year, instrument manufacturers as well as retailers will be able to put themselves forward for entry into the awards.

The winners of the majority of the categories will be decided by online public or retailer vote through the various sponsors. The remaining categories will be decided by judging panels. Final Shortlists for the public and retailer voted categories will be announced on Thursday 11th October, the winners for all categories will be announced at the ceremony.

Details are available on the MIA Awards website www.miamusicawards.com with nominations open to the industry (free for MIA members and a £50 donation to Music for All charity for non-members).

The event will be supported once again by NAMM, while MI Pro will again sponsor the popular Twitter wall feature from last year and the seven award categories themselves will be variously sponsored, with three public vote categories included.

  • Public voted Best Classical Instruments and Shops, sponsored by Classic FM
  • Public voted Best Contemporary Instruments, sponsored by Future Publishing
  • Public voted Best Retailer Awards, sponsored by Musicguard
  • Retailer voted Best Supplier Awards, sponsored by Moneyway
