MI PRO TV: World's fastest drummer hits 1208 beats per minute

The previous record for the world’s fastest drummer has been well and truly smashed, after Canadian ‘extreme sport drummer’ Tom Grosset notched up a wrist-defying 1,208 beats in one minute. That’s 20 beats per second.

Only the second person to hit more than 1,200 beats in 60 seconds, Grosset stole the crown of world’s fastest drummer from Dream Theatre’s Mike Mangini, who had reigned supreme since 2005, having reached 1,203 single strokes in one minute.

The new record was set at the recent Summer NAMM show, which hosted the WFD (World’s Fastest Drummer) Finals, whereby all records and scores were recorded using the Drumometer; a teaching tool designed to detect the speed of the drummer’s hands and feet.

If you think you can give Mr Grosset a run for his money, send us your videos via Facebook and Twitter and if we receive enough interesting clips, we may even share them here on MI Pro TV.
