The Sound Recording Technology show, one quarter of the London International Music Show (LIMS), is being sponsored by Sound on Sound magazine and is being touted as ‘the only place you can see all the leading recording and audio technology products from all the major manufacturers under one roof’.
Whether you’re a tech-savvy dealer, laptop muso, or you have a large-scale project studio setup, SRT will have something for both dealers and end users alike, including demos and the chance to get hands-on with all the new gear for 2008 for the first time in the UK.
As headline sponsor, SoS will be running a full programme of seminars and panel discussions on June 13th, 14th and 15th, with the provisional seminar programme including Apple music production, Pro Tools tips, home studio recording techniques, recording vocals, the loudness war presented by the Music Producers Guild, and operating and optimizing PA systems presented by Performing Musician magazine.
Sound on Sound’s editor in chief, Paul White, and technical editor, Hugh Robjohns, will be on hand to answer questions along with many more of Sound on Sound’s editors and contributors. Places are limited, so be sure to grab a seat early to avoid disappointment. The magazine will also have staff continually on its stand, where there will be special SRT show offers.

On top of this, SoS is running a sizeable ‘Studio Giveaway’ prize draw to win a system based around an eight-core Mac Pro, running Logic Studio and worth an estimated £25,000. The winner will have the studio installed by the Studio SoS team, and will be featured in the magazine. A full list of equipment will be confirmed over the coming weeks, with regular news being posted on the SoS website (see link below).
