John Hornby Skewes & Co has appointed two long-serving executive directors to the company's main board.
Paul Smith (pictured, left), the firm's executive director of purchasing and logistics has now become purchasing director and George Bell (pictured, right), previously executive director of treasury has been appointed finance director in place of Peter Rayner, who has now retired.
"Both Paul and George have proven themselves to be absolutely key members of the JHS team. In a sales centric organisation, it is very often overlooked that the solid platform which vital back office functions such as purchasing and finance creates, enables the more visible parts of the team to 'do their dance'," said JHS managing director Dennis Drumm.
"These appointments will strengthen our Board and both George and Paul will be able to apply their considerable talents and experience to the future growth of the Company.”
Smith commented: “I am personally delighted to be appointed to the Board of Directors for JHS. We have an excellent team, with a wealth of experience and after 47 years in business, the company has a rock solid foundation giving us the opportunity to grow within the UK and international markets.
"I am honoured to be associated with a dynamic international company such as JHS, and I look forward to the challenges the new role will present. I also look forward to the challenges associated with the present economic climate," added Bell.
