Porter & Davies, manufacturer of the BC drum monitor system – formerly named the Bum Chum – has appointed Jerome Marcus as its artist relations consultant.
A professional percussionist and drummer, Marcus served as artist relations manager/product specialist for the Arbiter plc portfolio of percussion brands – Remo, Vic Firth, Gibraltar, LP, Toca, Arbiter Flats and Sabian – until 2006, when he became Sabian artist relations manager (UK/Europe).
He was also UK trade and media liaison for the cymbal company and during this period he developed ongoing relationships with the likes of Dave Weckl, Chad Smith, Billy Cobham, Bernard Purdie and Geoff Dugmore, as well as establishing his profile as an interviewer, writer and photographer for the major percussion publications.
Porter & Davies managing director Paul Barretta commented: "In addition to being a popular figure in the music industry, Jerome Marcus is one of the most knowledgeable and best connected. His extensive live and studio experience coupled with his creative perspectives and roles with Arbiter and Sabian mean he really understands the BC concept, the philosophy of the Porter & Davies brand, the retail market, consumer needs and how they all connect.
"Porter & Davies welcomes his expertise and look forward to Jerome's role supporting the BC concept and other Porter & Davies initiatives on a global basis."
