Jazzwise wins majority in Parliament

Jazzwise, the UK's biggest selling jazz magazine, won Jazz Publication of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2010 held at the House of Commons on May 19th.

The award was presented to Jazzwise editor Jon Newey (pictured right) by singer Cleveland Watkiss (left) at the annual awards event run by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group and PPL and hosted by broadcaster and DJ Paul Gambaccini.

Jazzwise has single-handedly set the standard in jazz magazine publishing, offering its readers authoritative, forward-looking editorial within a design that appeals to new and established jazz fans alike.

Jazzwise last won this prize in the awards' inaugural year, 2007.

Completing a successful evening for Jazzwise, the gig guide and website editor Mike Flynn won Jazz Journalist of the Year and one of tyhe magazine's contributors, Alyn Shipton, won Jazz Broadcaster of the Year.
