IN PICTURES: KORG's first ever UK dealer event

This week saw KORG UK open its doors for all of its UK and Ireland dealers, given them not only a peek into the Milton Keynes office, but also a chance to see and hear brand new products ahead of any other country.

Taking place across Thursday 31st August and Friday 1st September, the event honoured iconic KORG and VOX products from the past, and introduced lots of brand new gear featuring some of the latest music technology.

In KORG’s piano room, visitors were able to get their hands on the recently announced Grandstage Stage Piano and G1 Air pianos, as well as some brand new gear in the form of the KROSS 2 – the long-awaited successor to KORG’s KROSS synthesizer workstation.

A demonstration of the KROSS 2 showed just how easy it is to customise your sound, split the keyboard and quickly patch together accompanying drum beats. And the realistic sounds you can get out of this synth are fantastic.

Also on show were the new Pa700 and Pa1000 Professional. The new Professional Arrangers feature improved built-in speaker systems and standardised video output is standardised, meaning these are ideal for displaying onscreen lyrics for sing-alongs.

You can find out more about KORG’s new synths in our roundup here.

Visitors were also treated to some interesting VOX gear, including the revived Continental keyboard.

With the original VOX Continental transistor organ appearing in the 1960s, we’re expecting there to be quite a fuss around the new model, especially since it features an analog valve drive powered by Nutube.

We also got to see the new Adio Air Bluetooth speaker/50w amp in action. With two models (one for guitar and one for bass) the Adio Air is aiming to do something pretty unique – make a VOX amp at home in the livingroom. A little demonstration showed just how powerful the Adio Air works as a simple Bluetooth speaker, yet it has some great functions for guitarist wanting to practice playing along with their chosen music. We're excited to see how this range expands in the future.

We also got a nice demonstration of VOX’s new VX50 amps. These incredibly lightweight-yet-power amps comes in three models, each once specifically designed for either bass, keyboards or acoustic guitar.

You can check out all of VOX’s new products in more detail in our roundup here.

KORG also had a room dedicated to Takamine guitars, and we got to hear the beautiful limited edition 2017 Magome model played through the VOX VX50 acoustic amp. The combination of the two sounded warm and powerful, a perfect set up for cafés and pubs wanting to host their own acoustic nights.

Visitors could also mingle amongst the Paste cymbals, Vic Firth gear and Mapex drums at the event, with some stunning new finishes for the Mapex kits on offer, including my personal dream design – black matt with black chrome hardware. Heaven!

"We've opened the doors of our office to our customers giving them the chance to see products and meet the team here at KORG UK. The reaction so far has been very positive," said Korg UK MD Rob Castle on the day.

With so much new gear and demonstrations on show, we can’t wait to see what KORG comes up with next year!
