Hughes & Kettner returns to JHS

JHS is taking over distribution of the Hughes and Kettner brand in the UK from the beginning of April.

With effect from 2nd April, JHS will become the official exclusive trade distributor for the UK and Ireland for the  amp range which includes the Triamp, The Coreblade, Tube Tools, and the Tubemeister.

The move follows the earlier news that Soundking had taken back distribution of the Carlsbro range, giving JHS a ready replacement. Hughes & Kettner's UK distribution became available following PRS' decision to go direct in Europe with the purchase of distributor Headline Music.

JHS managing director, Dennis Drumm, commented: "Hughes & Kettner is a fabulous amp brand. The capabilities of the R&D team, the understanding they have of ‘tone’ – and how to manipulate it – are quite astonishing. Employing some of the best ears and development techs in the business, with über-modern production techniques, results in amps and tube devices which deliver tone in spades. It takes skill of a high order to create world beating amps, able to deliver performance across musical categories, and all professional applications, but that’s just what Hughes & Kettner does.”

Hughes & Kettner CEO, Hans Stamer, said of the new deal: “We wish Dennis Drumm and his team at JHS every success in the UK and Eire with the Hughes & Kettner brand. This unique marketplace for guitar amplification – with a great sense of tradition and an evolution stretching back 50 years – is the envy of the rest of the world.  JHS is a very strong company that will enhance this evolution further with great products from us at Hughes & Kettner and with its own strong distribution power.”
