German audio manufacturer HK Audio has strengthened its portable line array offering with the new Elements Plus and Elements Install systems.
The Elements Plus E 835 mid/high unit (£579, pictured left) provides greater flexibility and power than its predecessor (the E 435), for when a bigger systems is required. Loaded with eight speakers, it can handle 300 Watts at eight ohms' impedance, and helps minimise the number of mechanical connections in a rig. The E 835 and E 435 mid/high units’ design and tuning are identical, so combining them is easy.
The new E 210 Sub AS subwoofer (£1,699, pictured right) is equipped with two 1,200-Watt amps. The first power amp drives the two internal ten-inch woofers, with plenty left over to run an external passive type L Sub 1200. The second delivers 900 Watts at 2.6 ohms to drive up to three E 835s (or six E 435s).
HK has developed the E 435 Install Kit (£749) to facilitate simple and inconspicuous installation. It consists of two modified E 435 mid/high units and includes mounting yokes. Up to six mid/high units (including the wall-mount Kit) can be combined.
The active E 435 A Install Kit (£899) is basically the above system, plus a powered EA 600 amp module, with mounting hardware in place of the top mid/high unit. This turns it into an active array that can power either three E 435s or a combination of one E 435 and one E 835.
