Hal Leonard signs long-term deal with educators

The Hal Leonard Corporation has secured exclusive, long-term distribution rights for the publications of Randall and Nancy Faber, the husband-and-wife team of authors/educators in a deal that will be effective from December 7th. The Fabers negotiated the terms of the agreement with Hal Leonard's president, Larry Morton. The Milwaukee-based music print publisher will be responsible for the sales, distribution and marketing of the Fabers' catalogue throughout the world.

The Fabers have more than 200 publications to their credit and the new deal encompasses their entire catalogue, including Piano Adventures – cited as the number one piano method in North America – and its array of supplementary publications, such as the PreTime to BigTime Library, the Developing Artist Piano Literature series, the Duet Time piano series, piano solos and ensembles, classical sheets and songbooks.

Working with the Hal Leonard editorial staff, the Fabers will begin creating new publications utilising songs from Hal Leonard’s broad catalogue, aimed at expanding the Fabers' brand into untapped areas. The first fruits of this new collaboration are expected off press by the first quarter of the coming year.

“Randy and I are thrilled about our new alliance with Hal Leonard," commented Nancy Faber. "Having the opportunity to tap Hal Leonard’s treasure trove of songs makes us eager to begin expanding our catalogue in new, pedagogically exciting ways. We already have many ideas brewing – for publications ranging from the preschool market to the adult learner.”

“Hal Leonard offers all that we have been seeking in a publisher," added Randall Faber. "Their unrivaled distribution network and well-oiled marketing machine will expose our current publications to the widest possible base of piano teachers and students and their progressive business systems will efficiently shepherd new projects from conception to completion. We have no doubt that our catalogue is in the best possible hands.”

“We have long respected the success of the Fabers and their outstanding piano method," concluded Morton. "We are delighted to welcome Nancy and Randy to our team, and to showcase their publications among our offerings. Combining their incredible talent with our resources is a winning proposition, and we have great expectations for what the future holds in store.”
