Gem, a company little known outside the realm of computer, software, games and home technologies retail, is looking to expand its retail coverage by touting its Jays brand of headphones and earphones.
Jays is a Swedish company that specialises in designing and manufacturing quality ear phones and has products that cover the market from the mid-price level up to a very high end indeed.
A typical example – and falling in the medium price range of the brand – are the d-Jays models (retailing between £80 and £90), which combine Swedish design and patented in-ear technology for a balanced sound, with detailed highs, natural mids and extended bass, without compromising on the functionality, look or feel of the phones.
High quality micro armature and a vented application allow the d-Jays to deliver a ‘superior spectral balance’ with an extended bass response and the Sound Isolating System reduces the background noise of modern life. With this silent setting you can listen at reduced volumes without losing the sound experience. On top of this, the range is available in five sizes, enabling them to fit snugly in any ear. The sleeves are made in durable silicon rubber which makes it easy to keep them clean at all times.
At the top of the range (£169.99), the q-Jays are the smallest dual armature earphones on the market and are fitted with an ‘Air Booster’ that enhances the listening experience.
“The sound will truly blow you away,” says the blurb. “If you thought you had heard it all – think again.”
