Critically acclaimed and award winning prog rock drummer Gavin Harrison has started using the new Nord Drum.
The Nord Drum is a four-channel virtual analogue drum synthesizer. Combining 100 per cent synthesized sample-free sounds with state-of-the-art trigger response, it is a dynamic, expressive instrument designed to supplement any drum kit with a vast palette of playable electronic percussion.
The four-time Modern Drummer Magazine's ‘Best Progressive Drummer of the Year’ is known not to be a fan of sample-based electronic drums, and had this to say about the latest addition to his drumming armoury:
"Playing the Nord Drum is the most fun I've had from electronic drums. Playing a percussion synthesizer is so much more expressive than playing samples."
