The ever-experimental star will be releasing his newest project, Song Reader, as 20 pieces of individual sheet music.
None of the songs will be recorded, but by including full scores, including ukulele notation, fans will be able to recreate the music themselves.
The music will be illustrated and come in a hardcover carrying case, with 20 individual full colour song booklets featuring covers designed by more than a dozen artists.
Faber’s publishing director Lee Brackstone said: “Beck is one of the great maverick pop stars of this, or any age, and as soon as I saw Song Reader the relevance of the concept struck me. Song Reader makes a radical statement about the value and importance of performed and recorded music at a time when these very things are under threat.”
Song Reader will be published in December at a price of £18.99.
