Evans unveils Black Chrome heads

Evans has released a number of new drum heads, including the much-anticipated Black Chrome range.

The Black Chrome series (pictured) is ideal for rock, metal and progressive drummers who hit hard, play fast and desire punchy tone.

The black mirror-like two-ply heads deliver a robust tone, controlled sustain and easy tuning. They consist of a 7mm optically clear film over an 8mm black film, which provide strong durability and a sleek appearance. The combination of these opposing films controls sustain and creates an accentuated mid-to-low frequency response.

?“Our Black Chrome drum heads were designed for drummers with the need for speed, heavy attack and a sleek and smooth aesthetic,” said Dick Markus, Evans product manager.

The new series will be available in the UK on August 1st 2012, in sizes 6” - 20”, and will retail from £15.49 to £33.99

The EMAD Onyx Bass Batter head also now comes in additional sizes, while the best-selling EQ3 Resonant head is now available without a port.

Evans' recently launched its G14 heads as well. With a single 14mm ply instead of the industry standard 10mm, the G14s deliver high durability without losing the strong dynamic response of a single-ply head. The G14 heads will be available in Rock, Fusion and Standard Tom Packs from August 1st 2012.

Evans heads are distributed by D’Addario UK. A catalogue detailing all new range additions will be sent out to its dealers in early August.
