US string manufacturer DR Strings has today (Thursday, September 5th) announced the launch of a new range of NEON strings, as well a new partnership with music education platform Jamstar.
DR’s new NEON multi-colour guitar and bass string sets, in which each string is a different colour and UV and Black Light active, are designed to deliver clear, bright tones and maximum longevity. In addition, the DR NEON string sets are available in a variety of standard electric, acoustic and bass guitar gauges.
Meanwhile, the firm has also announced a partnership with music technology education platform, Jamstar, to present a new tool aimed at assisting both teachers and guitar students.
Available as an app for iOS and Android phones and tablets, as well as PCs and Macs, the Jamstar platform works by utilising a patent-pending audio recognition engine that hears what the user is playing via their devices microphone and provides real-time feedback whilst playing any acoustic or electric guitar. Furthermore, by combining the technology with the firm’s new NEOn strings, users can colour-coordinate the strings on their guitar with the lesson in the app.
Available as a free educational tool to for tutors, Jamstar also enables instructors to upload their own personalised lesson via a backend editor, meaning that the student can continue to work on the lesson independently.
The free DR NEON Multi-Colour/Jamstar version is now available and features over 100 free lessons.
