Why have you chosen to support the event this year?
Avid and CU are proactively looking for new customers within the MI sector and the retail conference is one of many good opportunities to talk with potential partners, and importantly, is somewhere to walk them through
Avid's range of recording and performance products.
How important is it for the UK MI industry to have a dedicated event for retailers?
Frankfurt and NAMM are good for many of us, as are the impromptu get-togethers at things like Gadget Show Live and other regional events, but having something which is specifically trade-focused in the UK, and free for
retailers to attend, is ideal. The take-up from all the major manufacturers, a year in, suggests we're very keen to make this work.
What do you see being the key issues facing MI retailers in 2011?
Keeping our customers within the MI stores and websites that have the specialist knowledge should be our biggest focus, otherwise we risk losing them to the distractions of the shiny toys market of games/phones/computers/ipod/sat-nav etc. It’s especially important for a highly computer-centric company like Avid.
What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?
One of the main reasons for attending is to communicate the benefits of working with distribution partner Computers Unlimited. We're committed to ensuring all our customers receive an exceptional level of sales and service support, and we want to shout about the excellent customer service and logistics support that CU provide.
