Why have you chosen to support the event this year?
To contribute to what we see as a necessary and worthwhile convergence of the MI retailers.
We didn’t get chance to sponsor or attend last year but the feedback from our dealer base was very positive. Given it was the first year and that our whole industry needed a platform to voice opinion I think it was and is excellent.

How important is it for the UK MI industry to have a dedicated event for retailers?
Every other industry I can think of does a similar thing... what make us different? Nothing. We should pool our thoughts to be a stronger industry, especially in difficult time and the competition UK retailers have from Europe.

What do you see being the key issues facing MI retailers in 2011?
Retailers need to choose supply partners who understand their business and not just looking for someone to shift boxes. Counter Sales are going be harder fought than ever and retailers need to communicate their benefits of service to the end user. Of course cash flow comes hand in hand with sales.

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?
Our parent company (IAG) have been very busy looking at filling gaps in the market place which where current suppliers have poor distribution. We have a new range of mixers, powered mixers and later on this year a total re-vamp of our PA speaker line up. We are also introducing a new line of quality guitar amps ( Albion ), designed by the legendary Steve Grindrod (ex VOX and Marshall).

Why should retailers look out for the Wharfedale stand at the MI Retail Conference & Expo?
Well our existing dealer network already know we are almost unique in being a wholly owned subsidiary of a Chinese manufacturer, this means we always have stock(in our 60,000 sq/ft warehouse)and always have spares. So we offer great profitable products with great service. Just some new products!
