British guitar maker supplies idol

One of the UK’s most exclusive guitar builders, Rob Williams, is to sponsor this year’s on-line Guitar Idol competition, with the final taking place at the London International Music Show at the ExCeL exhibition centre, London Docklands, June 11th to14th 2009.

The lucky winner will reap the rewards of William’s guitar making skills, with a handmade, solid bodied electric guitar worth £2,336. Simply called the Rob Williams Set Neck Standard, this guitar has a neck and body constructed from top quality Brazilian mahogany with selected hardware for optimum sustain, tone and playability.

“I feel this is a double achievement,” said Williams. “Not only will the lucky winner be able to appreciate this great prize first hand, I’m also honoured that a smaller UK brand like mine will have the opportunity to sit on the pedestal with some of the larger manufactures at this fabulous event.”

Rob Williams has achieved worldwide recognition for his trade-mark, high-end, entirely hand-built, solid bodied electric guitars and basses, which are now set up with Rotosound strings.

“I source the best possible exotic tone woods from around the world, the best hardware and now I’m pleased to offer my CS and Model T guitars, fitted with what I think are the best guitar strings,” concluded Williams. “Rotosound strings are unique, they have pure tone, stay in tune and, above all, they’re British.”
