BPM moves to earlier dates, avoiding PLASA clash

DJ and audio show, BPM, has moved to a slot in September next year, avoiding a clash with the PLASA audio event.

Next year's show will be at the NEC in Birmingham from Saturday the 14th through to Monday the 16th of September - an earlier slot than previous years.

Traditionally an October event, BPM’s move now makes it the first fixture on the autumn show schedule.

Sales Director Mark Walsh explained: “Our date move initially came at the request of exhibitors following the announcement by PLASA of their date and venue change, however it is being welcomed by exhibitors across the board as it gives an earlier launch platform for product releases in time for Christmas. A further benefit is that we move ahead of the Ibiza closing parties meaning there are far more international DJs in Europe at the time.”
The organiser, Marked Events, say this year's BPM attracted a record attendance, with 8,137 visitors going to the NEC over three days.
BPM’s marketing director, Eddie Short, says  the show aims to deliver a full visitor experience rather than just an exhibition: “As BPM is a ‘prosumer’ event it is has to appeal to many different types of visitor and facilitate our trade guests too. Combining the diverse educational content, networking zones and live performance spaces with a busy exhibition floor really does create a unique feel and buzz to the show. This captures the imagination of new visitors and also brings back regulars year after year.”
