Dean Mitchell has joined Active Music Distribution on a freelance basis, adding to his current portfolio of projects.
The appointment follows last week’s announcement that Active’s Lee Worsley had sold his shareholding in the company, as the firm looks to bolster its sales team.
With immediate effect, Active music lines will be added to Mitchell's current portfolio, which includes 440 Distribution. Godin Guitars, Simon & Patrick, Seagull, House Music, Brian May Guitars, Elites Bass Strings, and Brilliant Distribution Duesenberg Guitars, Kluson.
Commenting on the appointment, Mitchell said: "Although I’m known more on the guitar side of the business, I’m a percussionist myself and I'm excited about the prospect of working with Active Music and bringing their wide variety of lines to clients across the South. I’ve known Paul since the '90s when we both worked for different companies in Wapping so it’s good to finally get to work together."
Active managing director Paul Hagen added: “With his expertise and knowledge from over twenty years in the industry, we are delighted that Deano will be joining our team and representing us in the South of England and East Anglia. He is so well known in the industry and will be perfect for our portfolio of products.”
Meanwhile, David Wilkinson will continue to cover the north of the country, with Jamie Corry handling internal sales and artist liaison.
