Funding will help support events aimed at improving the quality of music education
ABRSM has announced that it is sponsoring the UK branch of the European String Teachers' Association (ESTA) this year. ESTA is an association for violin, viola, cello and double bass players and teachers who are concerned with improving the quality of music education.
ABRSM’s funding has already helped to support ESTA’s recently completed conference at Birmingham Conservatoire. The next major events to be supported by ABRSM are the ESTA Summer School at Dean Close School, Cheltenham from August 15th to 20th and the next ESTA conference in November.
Christine Morris, ABRSM's UK marketing manager, said: “ABRSM shares ESTA's belief in the highest standards of music education.
ESTA's provision of information, support and guidance for all string teachers is an aim we are delighted to support. After many years of close collaboration we're delighted to formalise our backing with this new sponsorship arrangement.”
David Marcou, chair of management committee for ESTA UK, added: “On behalf of all our members I warmly welcome the commitment of ABRSM to an ongoing relationship with ESTA UK and look forward to many years of close collaboration. With the support of such partnerships ESTA will be able to fulfil its mission to promote excellence in string teaching for the benefit of countless children and young people.”
