Invisible guitar mounting system wins Best in Show in the ‘something small’ category
Woodies Hanger has won Best In Show in the 'something small' category at Music Inc's awards event, held during the Breakfast Session at the NAMM show earlier this month.
The invisible mounting system that enables a guitar to be hung in any position by its strap buttons was chosen by two of the panellists, which is unusual in any single category. The two panellists who chose the product were George Hines, owner and president of ten-store chain George’s Music and Todd Skaw, owner of Guitars Etc.
“If you go down to Hall E, the energy down there with all the entrepreneurs is really off the charts,” said Hines. “This is one of those products. It’s a guitar hanger. My concern was how rugged is this thing. But the head of the company took it out of the packaging and stomped the heck out of the thing.
No problem. It’s extremely rugged. It’s something that anyone can use. And it’s different from other hangers.”
“With the Woodies Hanger, the guitar can be upside down, it can be on an angle, it can be on the ceiling, and it can hang a Guitar Hero module,” added Skaw. “How many homes would like to get that module out of the way? They also have this little capo that slides over the back of the guitar neck and grabs one string, so you can get some really incredible voicings. There’s nothing else like it on the market. They’re both very affordable products.”
Lesley Kane's KMI Distribution operation in Ireland recently scooped up the distribution rights for the Woodies hanger. KMI will be selling the hanger for a retail price of €15.99 in the Republic of Ireland.
