Home studio users come onto MPG's radar for Best Remixer category
The Music Producers Guild (UK) today announced the shortlist for its 2010 Awards, which takes place at London’s Cafe de Paris on February 11th 2010. The awards recognise the enormous contribution made by recording professionals to the success of the UK’s music industry.
The winner of the Music Producers Guild’s Producer of the Year Award also receives a BRIT Award for Best Producer, and both awards will be presented at the Music Producers Guild’s Awards ceremony.
After receiving nominations from the audio industry for qualifying people in each category, the shortlist was drawn up by full members of the Music Producers Guild. Those chosen will now be put before a final judging panel, with the winners being announced at the awards ceremony.
Once again, nominess in the Best Remixer category, such as Simian Mobile Disco and Skream – the young dubstep producer who created the enormously succesful remix of La Roux's In For The Kill – have proved that skillful use of home studio equipment can get you recognised by the pros.
