New initiative designed to help discover great drummers in the UK
Mapex is reaching out to drummers in the UK with a new programme known as Rhythm Roots.
Rhythm Roots is Mapex’s idea to bring into the spotlight the next generation of great drummers via the internet. Every month, Mapex will select and post the top five favourite videos that are submitted to mapex.co.uk. Drummers need only email their video link to info@mapex.co.uk and each month the firm will upload its favourites.
This provides a chance for drummers to showcase their style and flair to the world, whatever, or however they play.
Mapex wants to see and hear the style diversity of the drumming public, while at the same time giving the opportunity to all drummers to be heard by the world’s music community.
Emails to Mapex should include the video link with a description of the musician, their influences and interests. Mapex will contact them if it plans to post the video. The footage can be a live performance with a band or short solo on the drum set. Mapex gets the ball rolling this month with Joe Clancy on his impressive Orion set up.
