JHS announces Jeorge Tripps latest guitar effect

Launched in 1992 by electronics engineer Jeorge Tripps, Way Huge pedals were designed to allow him to perform with reliable pedalboard-friendly effects that had the magic of his coveted vintage pedals.

Tripps' first Way Huge pedal – simply labelled ‘fuzz box’ – was quickly followed by such equally quirkily-monikered Red Llama overdrive, Foot Pig fuzz and Green Rhino overdrive II. These pedals quickly found their way onto the pedalboards of the world’s guitar elite. Ensuing years would see the introduction of pedals such as the Swollen Pickle Jumbo fuzz, Aqua-Puss analog delay and the Saffron Squeeze.

Over the span of a few years, Tripps helped revolutionise what would later be known as the ‘boutique’ effects market. In late December 1999 the company closed its doors as Tripps pursued other opportunities, sending demand for Way Huge products soaring and driving online auctions well into the hundreds – sometimes thousands – of dollars for Way Huge pedals.

Now teamed with Dunlop Manufacturing, Way Huge pedals still offer those finely-tuned electronics, high-grade circuitry and road-ready construction – and are still built under the watchful eye of Tripps himself.

The mighty Angry Troll, distributed in the UK through JHS & Co,  linear boost from Way Huge Electronics serves up huge portions of volume and gain to pummel the input of your amp with up to +50dB of gain. It adds bite and punch, while transforming a mild tone into an onslaught.

The Angry Troll’s two controls interact like a vintage mic preamp. The Anger knob – a rotary switch with six superb 'Fists of Fury' positions – adjusts the amount of gain created by the Troll’s internal op-amp, while the volume knob regulates the overall output level. High grade components are used for a precisely tuned circuit that works like an extension of your amp. The Way Huge Angry Troll retails at £169.00.
