Chester store prepares for opening day celebrations
Dawsons Music Chester will open the region’s first Yamaha Homeworld later this month.
During the opening day and the following day, visitors to the store will have the opportunity to see, hear, and play the very latest Yamaha products and speak to experts from Yamaha who will be on hand to guide them through a display of keyboards and digital pianos aimed at the home user.
Dawsons managing director David Briggs commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected to become the first Yamaha Homeworld in Cheshire.
“The key to our success has always been the very personal service we offer our customers and the high degree of expertise offered by our staff. As a Yamaha Homeworld the store now offers the ultimate musical shopping experience for our customers and promotes the benefits of learning to play to people at all skill levels in relaxed and luxurious surroundings. We very much look forward to welcoming customers on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November.”
Yamaha Director Robert Webster added “We congratulate Dawsons Music on the opening of the new Yamaha Homeworld in Chester. Dawsons Music has been one of Yamaha’s major home keyboard and digital piano dealers for many years.
The key reason for this is the quality of personal service extended to all its customers. We are thrilled that Dawsons Music has embraced the Homeworld concept and we are sure this will only enhance the level of service to the keyboard and digital piano purchaser in Chester and across North Wales.”
With nine stores throughout the UK, Dawsons Music is one of the largest musical instrument retailers in the country. The company, established in 1899 in Warrington, came to Chester in 1972 and moved to its current Pepper Street location in 1994.
The new Yamaha Homeworld will be run by store manager Val Powell who said: “We are honoured that Yamaha has chosen our Chester store as the location for the new Yamaha Homeworld that will have a major impact upon music making across the region, offering families and musicians across all skill levels from beginners to professionals, unrivalled access to the world’s finest keyboards and digital pianos with help from our friendly and experienced staff and music school tutors who are passionate about helping existing and creating new musicians.”

Hats off to Dawsons. In a recession Companies House shows they still managed to increase sales and profits. Nothing short of amazing really. The industry as a whole has been in decline for years. The internet has devastated brick and mortar operations. Dawsons powers on. One of the very few retailers who make any money.
